Angela Xu-Centre for New Immigrant Well-Being (CNIW)

Angela Xu is an undergraduate student at Western University, pursuing a Bachelor of Medical Sciences with a stellar CGPA of 4.0. A recipient of the Western Scholarship of Distinction, Angela is passionate about advancing knowledge in cognitive aging, public health, and youth education.

Angela’s research experience includes her role as a Volunteer Research Assistant at the Cognitive Aging Laboratory at Toronto Metropolitan University, where she is conducting a systematic review on telemedicine experiences among older adults during COVID-19. Her academic achievements also include independently published works on health-related topics and hands-on experience in data analysis using Excel and SPSS.

Dedicated to fostering community well-being, Angela volunteers at Carefree Lodge Long Term Care Home and has tutored science and math for underrepresented youth through Canada Online Academy and Go Green Youth Centre. Additionally, she served as a summer assistant at Crystal Dental Centre, gaining practical skills in healthcare support.

Angela combines her leadership, research, and community involvement with creative pursuits as Director of Photography for Western University’s Science Students’ Council. Fluent in English and Mandarin with honors in piano from the Royal Conservatory of Music, she brings a unique blend of talents and a commitment to excellence to all her endeavors.
