CNIW News, April 4, 2024:
The CNIW Foundation is proud to announce the selection of four distinguished students as beneficiaries of the inaugural CNIW Foundation Travel Award. This award is designed to facilitate the presentation of students’ work at significant national or international forums, highlighting the Foundation’s dedication to advancing health research and education.
This year marks the first distribution of the travel award, with eligibility currently restricted to those affiliated with both the CNIW and CNIW Foundation, among other requirements. The Foundation is keen on broadening the scope of this award to include a wider range of participants.
Announcement of Awardees:
Matin Shairati, MSc Student, Division of Population Health and Applied Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Memorial University.
Nan Lei, MSc Student, Division of Population Health and Applied Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Memorial University.
Aden Wang, participant in the 2023 CNIW Health Summer Camp and a student at the University of Toronto Schools.
Leo Chen, participant in the 2022 CNIW Health Summer Camp, 2023 Summer Student, and a life science student at the University of Toronto.
These awardees will showcase their work at two prominent events: the 2024 Canadian Public Health Association annual conference, scheduled for April 23 to 25 in Halifax, NS, and the AMMI Canada – CACMID Annual Conference, happening April 9-12 in Vancouver, BC.
The CNIW Foundation’s mission is to enhance the health and well-being of immigrants and vulnerable groups through education, research, and community outreach. The accomplishments of this year’s awardees are a testament to the exceptional talent within the CNIW community and serve as inspiration for future generations to strive for excellence in their academic and artistic pursuits.
