Kieran Luke Gill-Centre for New Immigrant Well-Being (CNIW)

It is an honour to be joining CNIW as a student board member. I am eager to further
cultivate my relationship with CNIW, bringing my experience in research, program development,
and community engagement to CNIW’s student- and youth-focused initiatives. My
undergraduate background includes Honours Biology and Psychology, graduating from Queen’s
University at Kingston with distinction in 2023. During 2024, I completed a Master of Public
Health at Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN) and was named a Fellow of the School
of Graduate Studies. Currently, I am completing a Master of Science in Medicine exploring
influential factors at the intersection of discrimination and health among Canadian Chinese.
Soon, I plan to study Medicine at MUN while delving deeper into equity-oriented health
services, holistic healthcare, and effective public health medicine within Canada’s increasingly
multicultural society.
Beyond academics, my commitment to community is unwavering, as reflected in my
nearly 1,250 volunteer hours logged across 7 organizations. As I work towards medical school,
my goal is to bridge academic excellence with community action, ensuring evidence-based
approaches inform policies and programs that directly impact immigrant and vulnerable
populations. Together, we can drive meaningful change, fostering an inclusive and supportive
environment where all individuals can thrive.
