Sidong Gu graduated from Tianjin Medical University in 2014 with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health Administration. That same year, he began his postgraduate studies in marketing at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), earning a Master’s degree in Marketing in 2016. He further pursued his academic journey at Top Education Institute in Australia, where he obtained a Master’s degree in Marketing and Public Relations in 2017.

Currently, Sidong serves as a Procurement Manager at the Procurement Centre of Sinopharm Group Tianjin Co., Ltd. Previously, he worked as a Marketing Coordinator for the Asian market at PharmEng Technology in Canada’s financial department. His diverse professional experience includes roles such as Medical Associate at Tianjin CanSino Biology Co., Ltd., Marketing Intern at Sanofi’s Beijing headquarters, and various positions with Glover Chemist, Newstars Education and Migration in Australia, and Novartis in Tianjin.

Sidong has also made significant contributions to academia. In 2013, he published Thinking and Countermeasures of Health Promotion as the New Curriculum in Higher Education in Chinese Health Education, a national science and technology journal. In 2017, his article Case Study on the Learning Model for a Multinational Pharmaceutical Company was featured in Pharmaceutical Project Management, a Canadian magazine. His educational background in public health and marketing provides him with unique perspectives and expertise in these fields, complemented by his broad knowledge of natural sciences, humanities, and social sciences.

Beyond his professional and academic accomplishments, Sidong is deeply involved in community activities. He is a Board Director and Associate Editor at the Centre for New Immigrant Well-Being and serves as Vice President of the Canada Alumni Association of Tianjin Medical University. During the 9th University Sports Games of the PRC, he published numerous reports in the Journal of the Games and on the campus website, earning recognition as a “Volunteer Star” in a local newspaper. For his outstanding contributions, he was awarded “The Outstanding Award” by the City of Tianjin.

In his personal time, Sidong is a passionate crosstalk actor, performing with the Toronto CROSS TALK Club and previously with Sydney’s HE YI SHE. He is also an avid badminton player, having competed in numerous tournaments over the years.
