Education and Professional Background

Wei Li graduated from the School of Public Health, Tianjin Medical University with a master's degree in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. She is currently the Deputy Director of the Public Health Physicians at the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention in Tianjin.

Research Interest

Wei Li is committed to the prevention and control of chronic diseases, especially to the tobacco control task forces. As a visiting scholar at Johns Hopkins University and the School of Public Health of the University of Hong Kong, she performed research on tobacco control, and its relations with morbidity and mortality associated with chronic diseases. She participated in the formulation, promulgation and implementation of the Tobacco Control Regulation in Tianjin.

Achievements

Wei Li received the China Contribution Award for Tobacco Control from 2013-2015 from the China Tobacco Control Association. As the first author, she has published more than 20 research papers on tobacco control and prevention of chronic diseases in internationally and domestically recognized journals. She has been involved in publishing four books in the field of her research.
