Welcoming Our New Intern: Farhana Bhanji-Centre for New Immigrant Well-Being (CNIW)

Farhana Bhanji is a Master of Public Health student specializing in Social and Behavioral Health Sciences at the University of Toronto. With a background in psychology, public health and over three years of experience in the healthcare and non-profit sectors, she is passionate about mental health promotion, community-based interventions, digital health and health equity. Farhana has led initiatives supporting peer wellness, coordinated health campaigns, and contributed to community-based research.

Drawing on her lived experience as a newcomer and her upbringing in Tanzania, Farhana brings a global and intersectional perspective to her work. She is especially passionate about creating culturally responsive and inclusive health systems that reflect the voices of the community. Farhana aspires to work at the intersection of research and grassroots engagement, contributing to the development of sustainable, person-centered health interventions that promote resilience and wellbeing.
