Academic Background
Yiran obtained her bachelor’s degree in Applied Human Nutrition, and Food Science Certificate at the University of Guelph. Soon she will complete her master’s degree in Applied Human Nutrition and continue her study at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto.
Research Interest
Yiran is responsible for the development and validation of a dietary assessment tool for her master’s degree. Her current academic advisor is Dr. Paula Brauer. She is also interested in assessing the health status and lifestyles of immigrants.
Community Involvement
Yiran was the President of the Chinese Students and Scholars Association at the University of Guelph during the year 2015-2016. She also acts as the General Director at the Graduate Students Association at the University of Guelph.
Achievements
She received the Certificate of Achievement awarded by the Consulate General of the Republic of China in Toronto and other four scholarships and awards.
Hobbies
Yiran loves reading, watching movies and drawing during her spare time.
