Academic Background


Dr. Zhu graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland in Canada with a doctoral degree in Community Health, and has been working as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Montreal since December 2017. She has been involved in cancer and molecular epidemiological studies for nearly a decade.

Research Interest


Dr. Zhu has done a great deal of work on environmental and genetic risk factors of complex diseases, such as colorectal and lung cancers. Her research investigated how processed meat, dietary patterns, cigarette smoking, physical activity, and vitamin D pathway gene polymorphisms impact on colorectal cancer risk and survival. During the past years, she has published 14 papers in peer-reviewed journals.

Hobbies

Dr. Zhu enjoys practicing yoga and playing table tennis in her spare time.
